Sunday 27th June sees one of Music HQ's biggest gigs to date when they welcome Scottish prog rock hero Fish to play an intimate acoustic set at Hull's Lamp venue. Fish has toured the world many times in his 25+ year career, either with Marillion who he parted ways with in 1988 after 4 extremly successful albums or solo. He has sold many millions of albums and downloads in his illustrious career as well as forging himself a highly regard acting and award winning broadcasting career.

A Hull date on Fish's latest acoustic tour came about because Music HQ managing director Darren Bunting is a big fan and when he saw on an email newsletter that Fish was looking for small venues to be suggested by his fans for The FishHeads Club Tour 2010 an email was fired off almost more quickly than the internet could transport it suggesting a visit to Hull.

Music HQ runs many gigs across the city in several venues and has recently been expanding into bigger name tours (mainly of the heavy metal variety) as well as supporting Hull and East Riding's varied local musical scenes and festivals offering support spots to local bands to well known acts like Trigger The Bloodshed (playing at The Download Festival for the second time in 2010), Glamour Of The Kill from York (darlings of Kerrang and gaining favourable reviews nationally) and up and coming acts like Flood Of Red, Atlas And I, Proceed and many more.

Fish is well known for offering value for money in his live shows, often onstage for over two and a half hours and being able to draw his audience into another world where the emotion, incidents and reasons behind the lyrics are conveyed in an almost shamanic way yet still being rooted very much in the 'real' world.

The Lamp is one of Hull's best small venues with a capacity of only 180 for live music events so this gig will be very intimate and with advance ticket sales being very healthy the chance of a sell out is rapidly approaching as Fish has a very loyal and large fanbase who travel many miles to catch him live.
